Linux for schools: Localization and Translation

The translation and localization effort

One of the goals for the Linux for schools project is to have all software available in the local languages. For some languages the localizations being are readily available (e.g. German) but for others (e.g the Norwegian languages Bokmål, Nynorsk and Sami) we needed to start almost from scratch).

By following the links in the sidebar you can reach the pages of the respective teams, where you can find more information about their work.

Do you want to help?

The localization and translation teams can always use more helping hands. Either to do translation (of webpages, documentation, programs' user interfaces) or to help advocate/install Skolelinux at local schools.

If there is already a localization and translation team for your region/language contact them and ask what needs to be done. If you want to add support for a new language follow the instructions here).
